JRPGs give no love for the UK

As some of you may know I am an avid RPG gamer, I mostly enjoy JRPGs as they're a type f game we usually don't see over here in the UK mainly since the title would suggest they are Japanese games (derp) One of the best companies for these type of games in my opinion would be Atlus, the creators of such amazing games such as Etrian Odyssey and the Shin Megami Tensai series of games.

Enough praise and down to the situation at hand, the UK just doesn't receive any of these games until much after their Japanese and American releases, I'm still desperatly awaiting for the release date of Shin Megami Tensai 4 and I can't even import it due to the 3DS being region locked, region locking is another really annoying thing (but that's for another post)

Matter of the fact is that I'm really curious as to why we are getting it so late? Great Britian must appear as Average Britain in the eyes of Atlus and other JRPG game makers like Rising Star games...Still waiting for Rune Factory 4 guys...well my dreams are yet to be furfilled and I shall remain envious of my American and Japanese friends until these companies realise there is a good market for their games over in the UK too. Well anywho this was more of a rant in order to vent my frustration and who knows this may become a recurring thing, weekly rant has a nice ring to it. Farewell and happy gaming friends.

GTAV Stimulus package being distributed

As many of you know there were many problems with the GTAV online, whether it be your characters being deleted, losing levels or losing money. Most people were faced with these problems and there were a lucky few that were able to avoid it. With the new Stimulus package bringing an update to players games, many of these issues have been fixed and people are even getting a nice sum of $500,000 in game of course. Do not fear if your friends get their money before you as Rockstar has assured gamers that they will receive it, all we can do now is wait and hope no more problems occur. Unfortunately still no news on when heists will arrive but I assure you that I'll make a post as soon as I find out. Farewell and happy gaming.

Etrian Odyssey IV

As previously mentioned I recently purchased a new game, that game would be Etrian Odyssey IV and here are my first impressions of the game. Firstly the presentation is superb, mixing beautiful 2D sprites with 3D models happens so seamlessly, the 3D models are used for the enemies whereas the 2D sprites are for NPC's and your own characters, in which you will always have a party of five members. There are seven starting classes to chose from with more unlock-able during your time through the game.

The game is a first person dungeon crawling, turn based combat RPG, it's not for the lighthearted gamer this is due to the game requiring many hours and also a quite large amount of grinding as the game is rather challenging. Exclusive to the Etrian Odyssey series (from what I know) is an interesting gimmick of allowing the player to draw the map as they explore, you can annotate and draw on the grid which is located on the touch screen, this is a pretty interesting gimmick and if you be lazy with your map drawing it could even cost you your life.  Challenging it may be but this is what makes the game really fun in some sort of masochistic way, then again this is coming from a guy who made it his goal to obtain 100% completion in Dark Souls.

The music, oh my gosh the music. The soundtrack of this game is excellent, every song played fits the situation you find your party in so excellently, ranging from terrifying scores during boss encounters to beautiful calm melodies as you explore new surroundings. The sound track itself is worthy of a listen even if the game doesn't interest you or if you're in the no 3DS corner.

The plot so far seems some what decent although I cannot really comment on the plot too much as I've spent most of my time doing side quests, gathering items and grinding my way up the levels, essentially explorers from far and wide have come to Tharsis as the count has issued his support to help the explorers guild find the roots of the huge tree Yggdrasil (a word in which I still struggle to pronounce) as for centuries the tree has been visible and the roots are in a far off unexplored land. That's the the main premise of the plot that I can say without giving too much away.

So there it goes friends I hope you enjoyed my official longest post on this blog. Farewell and happy gaming friends.

Day after the expo and Dark souls 2

Well hello again friends, after a fantastic day at London MCM I decided to upload a post after a few days of absence. The con was great and I was able to try out a variety of new games including Dark Souls 2 which is what I was more eager to play, the game is amazing, you can pick up to four classes in the demo and each feels so different and fun to play, the difficulty is still there and the Mirror Knight boss is just the epitome of a dark souls boss as he is able to one-shot you as soon as you the pass the boss fog! Anywho long story short the game is defiantly shaping up to be a great contender for my game of the year, but as it's coming out during the year of next gen it will be a very difficult battle. For all those who went to MCM I hope you had a great time and I'll be posting soon in a couple days as I made a purchase of a new 3ds game which I am going to review. Farewell and happy gaming friends.

MCM expo

After a short break due to illness I have returned! My immune system is essentially an old man waving a stick at germs but alas in a few days the London MCM expo starts up. The expo is going on from the 25th to the 26th at the Excel the centre and to all those coming I wish  you huge amounts of fun playing all the new games and reading all your favourite manga! I will be attending only Saturday but expect to see a small coverage and some pictures from the day, there may not be posts in the next couple days due to preparations for the expo and I must get my Pokemon team fully ready for some WiFi battling there :D Farewell and happy gaming.

Xbox 360 free games

Rejoice 360 players as it has come to my attention that  Microsoft will be carrying n their free games every month policy indefinitely for gold members instead of ending it at the end of this year as they previously stated. So for now enjoy this months free copy of Halo 3 for that nostalgia all of us gamers crave so badly before playing the game for 5 minutes and realising it wasn't as great as you thought it was. Alas there is still no word for this free game policy on the Xbox one and only time will tell if they will give free games to their consumers, knowing Microsoft I'm really doubting it but let's hope they prove
my wrong. Farewell and happy gaming.
